AWS cost optimisation

AWS bills creep up when instances are left oversized and nobody is keeping an eye on what's running. An AWS cost optimisation review from us finds where you're paying more than you need to and shows you what to change to bring the bill down.

Right-sizing & idle resources

We go through utilisation data for EC2, RDS and other services to find instances that are bigger than their workload needs. Resources that are running but doing nothing get flagged as well, such as unused NAT Gateways and idle load balancers or stopped instances whose EBS volumes are still being charged for.

Reserved Instances & Savings Plans

Workloads with steady, predictable usage can cost significantly less on Reserved Instances or Savings Plans. We work out which of your resources are good candidates from their usage history and calculate the saving against on-demand pricing.

Storage tiering & lifecycle policies

Based on how often data is accessed, we identify S3 data that could move to Infrequent Access, Glacier or Glacier Deep Archive. Where lifecycle policies are missing, we recommend ones that move or delete stale data automatically so storage costs come down without anyone doing it by hand.

Data transfer costs

Charges for moving data around are among the most overlooked costs in AWS. We look at cross-region transfers, NAT Gateway data processing and internet egress to see where the money is going, and whether changes such as VPC Endpoints or consolidating regions would cut it.

Overall spend efficiency

Drawing on Cost Explorer trends, Trusted Advisor cost checks and Compute Optimizer findings, we put together a prioritised list of savings. Each recommendation comes with an estimated monthly figure so you can decide where to act first.
